The BodyMind Reset & Reconnect Method
“Your body is not broken!”
The BodyMind RESET & RECONNECT (BMRR) method, created by Claeren Smets and offered by Breathe and Bloom, is a holistic approach that emphasizes the importance of the mind-body connection, breath, and emotions. It focuses on addressing the underlying causes of chronic pain and dysfunction and the ability to live life to the fullest, in trust and connection within. This unique program spans 6-12 weeks and addresses the mind, body, and soul in 3 different phases. It is a comprehensive program based on various treatment methods and techniques, such as the Pain RESET method, designed to alleviate chronic pain, fatigue, and body dysfunction (such as back pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, fatigue, fibromyalgia, Lyme, etc.) and to reconnect with oneself, one’s body, and heart in a healthy way.
By combining Eastern and Western knowledge and utilizing various treatment forms and methods such as yoga, mindfulness, mind-body coaching, breathwork, emotional release, psychosomatic work, systemic work, family constellations, and the PAIN RESET Method (formerly known as the Trigger Point Reset Method, developed by Tim van Orsouw), this program integrates tested techniques aligned since 2016. The aim is to reduce and eliminate muscle tension, treat trigger points that affect physical, mental, energetic, and emotional aspects, as well as different domains in our lives (body, mind, relationships, business). The goal is to achieve long-lasting results without relying on painkillers or physical treatments. By targeting the root cause of the problem, this approach breaks the cycle of physical suffering.
By addressing the underlying causes and equipping you with knowledge, awareness and techniques, we strive for lasting results that extend beyond temporary relief. The BMRR method aims to restore harmony and balance to your body and mind, allowing you to reclaim a pain-free and fulfilling life.

These methods are partly based on the Pain Iceberg Model, which utilizes the iceberg metaphor originally introduced by Freud.
The tip of the iceberg represents the physical symptoms that you are consciously aware of, accounting for only 10% of the complete picture.
Approximately 90% of the iceberg lies beneath the surface, encompassing the symptoms that you may not be consciously aware of. Experiencing chronic pain is an indicator that there are likely underlying factors (emotional and mental) at play.
The ‘Pain Iceberg Model’ underscores the importance of addressing not only the visible physical symptoms but also the underlying factors that contribute to chronic pain and disfunction. By delving beneath the surface and addressing the hidden aspects, the BMRR method provides a comprehensive approach to achieve long-lasting relief and restore overall well-being.

We now know that "abnormalities" such as herniated discs, stenosis, and arthritis are rarely the cause of pain symptoms.
But then, where do pain symptoms come from?
Pain complaints are often caused by tension in the tissues, which is attributed to muscle knots or trigger points. One characteristic of trigger points is the radiation of pain to other areas. This can result in limited mobility in the back or neck.
Sometimes, a diagnosis is made that may not fully explain the pain. It is believed to be caused by a structural abnormality, but fortunately, this is often not the case.
In the context of long-term back problems, 90% of people experience trigger points due to subconsciously suppressed emotions. These emotions remain trapped in the body, leading to increased muscle tension and reduced blood flow. The muscles become acidic and produce pain substances, resulting in persistent discomfort throughout the day. The pain also contributes to heightened tension, creating a cycle of long-term pain. Can you relate to this?
As you can read above, this is often related to emotional and mental factors. Trigger/pain points can also arise from unfavorable use of the muscles, for example, incorrect posture or movement patterns of the joints. Normally, your own body can resolve this. However, we often see that when the nervous system is overactive or disrupted, it can lead to chronic pain complaints. Lifestyle or living environment can also play an important role in this, such as an unhealthy diet, lack of exercise, breathing, illness, or stress.
the 3 pillars of THE BODYMIND RESET & RECONNECT METHOD
These three pillars occur in every phase of the MBRR method. However, the emphasis or focus in each phase is on a different pillar. In phase 1, the focus is on transforming physical pain and tension-related complaints. This is also where the first collaboration and our journey begins.

1. BODY RESET
Eliminating pain, reactivating breath (Qi), optimizing the immune system and nervous system, emotion regulation, improved blood circulation in trigger points, improved flexibility of the body, increased energy.

2. MIND RESET
Eliminating stress, anxiety, and fatigue, limiting beliefs and stories that do not serve you.

3. SOUL RESET
Activating self-love, authenticity, and empowerment (increased courage, self-confidence and strength), inner connection and awareness.
“Life is a journey and you will go through different layers during the process. And it’s important to have support and guidance for each one of them.“
- Claeren Smets
Transformation occurs in different phases and requires time, willpower, and courage. Awareness is one thing, transformation is another.
We can best compare the different phases to the metamorphosis of a caterpillar into a butterfly. A caterpillar has no idea what the life of a butterfly looks like.

The first phase revolves around becoming pain-free. It becomes clear here that your pain is related to your entire life. In this phase, you learn to ride a bicycle and get the necessary tools to continue riding and thus remain pain-free.
Becoming pain-free is like stepping into a ‘new life’ and can be very frightening for both, yourself and your surroundings when you have been living with pain for many years in a addapted lifestyle. Because you are essentially taking on a ‘new,’ more authentic identity. This suddenly opens up many more possibilities, and many aspects (body, being, balance, business) can change. Now that everything that was hidden in your pain has become clear, and you are faced with the challenge of living like a butterfly, we will discuss together whether to conclude here or continue our collaboration to work through phase two.
The second part of our collaboration is then focused on learning to live like a butterfly. Even though you are without pain, old patterns and deep conditioning do not disappear on their own. It’s like riding/flying against the wind… This also requires courage and energy. Who are you without pain? Or rather, who would you ‘DO’ without pain? Now that the physical pain is gone and you have the tools to continue riding without pain, we can start a new contract. With the question, what would a beautiful life as a butterfly be? How does that look for you, to live as a ‘free’ human being and go all out for it? And that’s what we work towards.
To be able to live (fly) FULLY, we must also accept the ‘lost time’ and ‘failure’.” And be able to say “it happened as it happened” and you can say “WOW, WELL DONE! You searched for a long time, but now you have found your way! In phase 3, it’s mainly about self-love, compassion, rawness, acceptance, and forgiveness.
How the process works:

Step 1 - Analysis
An extensive intake and examination to determine the true cause of your pain and dysfunctions. Based on this, I develop a personalized plan of action for targeted intervention.

Step 2 - Awareness and Pain Education
We delve into the root cause of your pain. Through gaining new insights, you may experience a reduction in pain right away! Additionally, we conduct a Reality Check and set goals. You gradually connect more with yourself.

Step 3 - Reset
We release physical blockages through various reset techniques and emotional release. This includes engaging in dialogue with your subconscious, which can bring about significant changes both mentally and physically. We identify and transform old patterns, habits, and beliefs.

Step 4 - transformation
You receive a personal toolbox containing things you need to apply to become and remain free of physical pain and to assist you true The search, the flying, the rising, the falling. Throughout your journey, you receive guidance, support and encouragement. You become more conscious, connected, and empowered.

Step 5 - evaluation
We evaluate your insights and progress every week or every two weeks. On average, there are five live sessions plus one follow-up session (totaling 11 hours) where I provide one-on-one coaching, support, and guidance. We explore all triggers to pave the way for your transformation.
